"Our family and friends had such a great time at this house. We needed nothing. Hot tub was a highlight, sunsets are spectacular! Safe neighborhood, easy walk to beach! A slight workout coming back uphilll, but not bad. The area is safe and restaurants are close by and exceptional! We love Rincon and the area; 2nd time visiting the area and we will be back! Beaches and waves are beautiful. The house is nice size and well equipped. People are friendly. Banana Dang, Ode to the Elephants, Pools Bar & Grill… I'm missing it already!" - The Neils from Vero Beach, Florida.

"Amapola House is elegant, natural and a special place. Even though our flight arrived very late at night, the Amapola House Concierge was waiting for us at the house. Before going to sleep, we could not help pausing to admire the star-filled sky from the veranda. Next morning, we were awestruck by the deep green of the nature scenery, the perfect blue color of the ocean; we then knew that we had picked the best place to stay.

The house is decorated in a bright, welcoming and elegant manner. The historical surfing photos are large and dramatic and they fit nicely with the entertaining  DVD of the first major surfing competition that we found in the media cabinet. The main hallway is a beautiful and interesting gallery of Old Rincon scenery photos and a 100 year-old heirloom mirror that evokes the old world influence in Rincon, which was founded in the 1700s.

The amenities are all top notch, from the high-count bed linen, the plush white towels, to the island furnishings, which are beautiful and functional. The kitchen is very adequately equipped for a family vacation and the wine cooler, bar and dining sets tastefully complete the wine and dine appointments.

In the days to come, we spent lots of time enjoying the Rincon area, mostly at the suggested places and activities we that found on the Amapola House website. We took day trips, swam in crystal clear water, rode horses on the beach, enjoyed a sunset sail cruise, the kids para-sailed, snorkeled and ran free on the wide golden beaches. Upon returning, we soothed ourselves in the rooftop hot tub, while watching the red and golden sunsets.

Having five restaurants and two bakeries within a five-minute drive was a plus; we had burgers, Thai, sushi, rice and beans and we even had a delicious pizza delivered for the kids, who enjoyed their favorite shows on the flat screen TV.

While we did not need anything during our stay, the Concierge called to ask, which was reassuring and made us feel like VIPs. The neighbors, humble campesinos, were friendly and gave us local fruit from their trees. The land below Amapola House is a small working organic farm with breadfruit, bananas, papayas, coconuts, yams, gourds and pigeon peas that are carefully harvested and sold to local restaurants.

The only regret we have about staying at Amapola House is not having planned a longer stay. As we closed the door behind us, we all felt like we should have spent more idyllic, fun-filled days at this beautiful vacation home. - Nat Hale from Los Angeles & London

"Amapola House is a tranquil delight. A group of eight of us travelled to from Ireland to Rincon for a week's stay. This modern villa was immaculate with fantastic utilities and comfortable rooms. I would recommend renting a car if you were to stay here as it's a little off the beaten track, a ten minute walk from the beach and about two miles from the town of Rincon. There are many advantages of staying at this villa, watching the sunset from the rooftop, bathing in the hot tub whilst listening to music, having a nice glass of wine straight from the wine cooler in the kitchen and lots, lots more. You really have to see it to believe it! I would most certainly recommend a stay at Amapola House." - Emma from Ireland.

"We can't wait to go back. Waking up early in the morning to sit on the rooftop lounge chairs to take in the mountains and the sea beyond them while reading a book and sipping on some of the best coffee Puerto Rico has to offer was more than enough to make this vacation and stay at the house worth it. With proximity to the beach, fantastic local restaurants and bars and other adventures like horseback riding on the beach, there is no other place I would rather spend a week to get away from "real life." The house itself is spectacular and off the beaten path, which adds to the experience." - Roberto from New York City.

"This lovely villa gave us the perfect beach vacation. We love the beach, but prefer to sleep not too close to it, so the location was just perfect for our stay. We'd spend our days on the beaches and our nights at beach side restaurants and bars and when we'd be done partying, a cool and quiet night was just minutes away.

On arrival, we were met by someone from the rental agency, who answered all of our questions about the house and the area. She showed us where everything was, including a guest guidebook, which proved to be quite invaluable. We were awestruck by the owner's family heirlooms, the details inside the villa and the family pictures going back to the 1800's, as well as the huge original Rincon '60s surfing pictures by a famous photographer that were just incredible.

Everything was beautiful but functional. The rooftop hot tub at sunset was relaxing and uplifting. The bar and the wine cooler were so convenient. Everything was well designed to take full advantage of the nature preserve and the ocean view; we felt like we were in a private retreat compound, but just minutes from it all; and at a much better price!

Even in June, the ocean breezes were refreshing. The terrace rockers were great, but we'd like to see a few more. The place was super clean and was easy to keep clean with tile on the floors and the kitchen counter. The oversize glass basins in the bathrooms were beautiful and functional. When you turn the lamps on, they glow brighter for a few seconds, a very cool effect. The neighbors were humble and friendly, offering us fruit picked from their trees. We saw thousands of stars above the roof deck and hundreds of fireflies below; these were nights to always remember.

We travel all over, but always enjoy Rincon and now, Amapola House. We've already made our reservations for next year- We love Rincon and adore Amapola House!" - P. Simon from East Hampton, New York.

"I stayed at Amapola House last Summer and preparing to stay again soon. It's quickly become my favorite Rincon spot to stay at. The thing about Amapola House is that although it's quite new, it's also natural and authentic- an instant classic! It's close enough to the beach, the bars and restaurants, but just far enough to spend quiet nights gazing at the stars from the hot tub on the rooftop deck. I've stayed in many Rincon places (from The Horned Dorset to Tamboo) and it's almost as if the owners of Amapola House took all the best features from all of them and synthesized them into this great villa. I read the history of the place at the Amapola House website and it's quite interesting- the old photographs and family antiques can only be appreciated by those who stay at Amapola House. The 1960's original Surfing photos are quite a blast. Anyone who wants to have a true Rincon experience must stay, at least once, at Amapola House Ocean View Villa." - Tom Partridge, Orlando, Florida.

“As avid travelers, we've had the opportunity to stay in a great variety of accommodations- from five star hotels in the world's capitals, to quaint B&B's in the French countryside. Every once in a while, we find the perfect combination of value, comfort, and a sophisticated design esthetic. Amapola House is just one of those places. From the comfortable beds with luxury linen, to the fully equipped kitchen (the wine cooler a winner!), to the plentiful hot water in the well laid-out bathrooms and the obvious care and detail of the décor. This vacation rental is tops!  Speaking of tops, the sunset terrace affords a beautiful view of the magnificent Puerto Rican sunsets. Achieve a state of utter relaxation as you enjoy a glass of wine in the rooftop Jacuzzi as the sky turns crimson red around you!  Amazing. Needless to say, we highly recommend this fabulous vacation home.” - Ruben Oliva, Esq., Davie, Florida.

“Over the years, we’ve stayed in many guesthouses and B&B’s.  Of the many places that we’ve stayed at, Amapola House has, by far, been the most beautiful and most elegantly (yet comfortably) appointed, with the most beautiful views that we’ve ever enjoyed. The back area is beautiful and fits the ambiance that you’ve created at Amapola House.  We loved the elegant appointments in every room and the open feeling of the house, since the spaces were so beautifully designed and utilized, even on the rooftop terrace. Your attention to the many details of the interior design is truly extraordinary; from the pots and pans, to the luxurious towels in the baths and even the bar essentials. We absolutely will recommend Amapola House to our family and friends” - The Tuckers, Glenmoore, Pennsylvania.

"We stayed at Amapola House and the place is awesome! What you see on the Internet is what you are going to get and much more. The area is really quiet. The view from the balcony and from the roof is beautiful.  We’re from Carolina, Puerto Rico and I felt like I was in another place. We just stayed for a weekend and on the last day we didn't want to leave, I would have liked to stay forever- I would like to live there! Everything at the house is just beautiful and we had everything there for us; we just bought some things at the supermarket to eat and drink and that was it!  A friend who has stayed a lot in the area told us of the many places to go in Rincon, including the great bars and restaurants just minutes from Amapola House. We stayed in September and are planning to stay again in October. We really recommend this place. We Love Amapola House; it’s now our favorite place to stay in Puerto Rico!" - Martha Rosario (Jet Blue San Juan) Carolina, Puerto Rico.

"I had a delightful, peaceful experience. My husband and I live in New Jersey and we went to Rincon to attend a wedding. We were the first couple to stayed at Amapola Ocean View Villa. We were accompanied by my sister, brother-in-law and our daughter. We had a marvelous time. The view, the peace and quiet and the overall atmosphere was marvelous. The Villa was well equipped, beautifully furnished and Peter and his staff were wonderful. They made sure that everything we needed was available to us. We would back to enjoy this beautiful place. Thanks to Peter, our vacation was delightful."  - Sonia Rosa, Atlantic City, NJ.
